AMON AMARTH Unleash New Studio Album Artwork, Track Listing + First Single

Melodic death metal heroes AMON AMARTH are pleased to unveil the details of their ninth studio album. Titled Deceiver of the Gods, the epic offering was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage). The cover art was, once again, completed by Tom Thiel and depicts a mythical battle between the Norse Gods Loki & Thor. Fans will also recognize a special appearance on this album with Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) providing guest vocals for eighth song, "Hel." Deceiver of the Gods will be released in North America via Metal Blade Records June 25th, in Europe June 21st/24th and Japan on June 26th.

Comments vocalist Johan Hegg: "We feel very excited about this new album, and personally I feel that Deceiver of the Gods is the strongest album we've ever done. By far! I'm confident that all our fans will enjoy this 'punch-in-the-face-of-a-record!"

Opening title track and first single, "Deceiver of the Gods" is currently streaming at the band's official Metal Blade page: http://www.metalblade.com/amonamarth where you'll also find special pre-order info.

Deceiver of the Gods Track Listing:
01. Deceiver of the Gods
02. As Loke Falls
03. Father of the Wolf
04. Shape Shifter
05. Under Siege
06. Blood Eagle
07. We Shall Destroy
08. Hel
09. Coming of the Tide
10. Warriors of the North

A compelling synthesis of buzzsaw riff work, melodic harmonies and soul-severing rhythms punctuated by vocalist Johan Hegg's callous Viking roar and gripping accounts of Norse battles and treachery, Deceiver of the Gods is the follow-up to the band's critically lauded 2011 Surtur Rising full-length. Finding placement on multiple charts worldwide the record is among the band's fastest-selling albums to date. Surtur Rising sold approximately 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week landing the band at #34 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Billboard Top Hard Music Albums. Around the world Surtur Rising also charted in Germany at #8 on the Top 100 chart, #19 on Canada's Top 200 Chart, #12 on Austria's Top 40 Chart and Switzerland's Top 100 at #20.

DARK TRANQUILLITY comments about "For Broken Words": "This is one of the heaviest and most brooding tracks from 'Construct', so it's a good candidate for the online premiere song position. More music from the album will be presented shortly."

Decades after their inception, Gothenburg's DARK TRANQUILLITY remains at the forefront of the scene that they helped to define as one of the longest-standing melodic death metal bands. Their 10th studio album, Construct, continues in the tradition of their past records by not straying from the band's roots, while also putting a fresh spin on their trademark sound. After over 20 years together, DARK TRANQUILLITY yet again proves that they are more vital than ever.

Some European summer festival appearances have already been announced, and the band is currently working on an EU/UK tour for this upcoming November/December. North American fans can look forward to a full tour being planned for September 2013. Stay tuned for more tour dates coming soon!

While most of their peers were listening to and playing to the "core" US-based bands, the members of STARKILL spent their days cutting their chops to European metal-- and the band makes no qualms about wearing their influences on their sleeves. Inspired by the likes of early CHILDREN OF BODOM à la the now classic Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper, in addition to NIGHTWISH, AMON AMARTH and DRAGONFORCE, STARKILL aims to pay homage to these acts, while also putting their own spin on Euro-metal-- and their new album, Fires of Life, does just that.

Produced by the band's own Jameson and mastered by death metal legend, James Murphy (DEATH, TESTAMENT, OBITUARY), Fire of Life's concept, both lyrically and musically, is overlain in medieval fantasy-themed battles, mythology, and destruction. The artwork, created by renowned metal artist, Joshua Belanger, captures this perfectly.

FEAR FACTORY Brings The Industrialist To North American Venues

FEAR FACTORY will embark on their first full headlining tour in support of 2012’s conceptual mega-album The Industrialist. Performances begin next week, with the tour set to visit 38 cities throughout the US and Canada. The tour represents the first live dates by the band on American soil in nearly a year. The World Industrialist tour will feature support from Hate Eternal and Kobra And The Lotus.

Speaking with Full Metal Jackie, vocalist Burton C. Bell describes The Industrialist as, “a very deliberate album and one that came about very naturally to us. There is something so tight about the album. Focus is the one thing that is on this record that doesn’t really appear on any of our other records. The focus of the music, the sounds, the aggression and the concept. Everything had its purpose and we knew exactly what we were doing and what we had to do.”

The Industrialist wraps itself around a tale written by vocalist Burton C. Bell. While the "story" was spelt out more expansively in the deluxe book edition of the album (which also featured two additional songs), the plot is rooted both in forward-thinking science fiction and contemporary events. Prior to its June 5, 2012 release, excitement was already building for the album – the second from the reunited nucleus of Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares. “There isn't a record that I'm looking forward to more than The Industrialist,” said Revolver editor Brandon Geist. “North America is chompin' at the bit to get an ear full of new Fear Factory,” added Sirius/XM Metal Director Jose Mangin. “Recharger,” the album’s lead single premiered on April 24 and within 24 hours had over 100,000 listens.

Produced by Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly), and mixed by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost/Machine Head), The Industrialist features additional tracking by Logan Mader (Gojira/Divine Heresy) and artwork by Anthony Clarkson (Devin Townsend). It is FEAR FACTORY at its most confident and passionate; the band bringing every sonic weapon in its arsenal to the fore. Revisiting and refining the sweeping melodies and unforgettable songwriting that will forever distinguish FEAR FACTORY from all others, the sound and creative storyline of The Industrialist immediately carved itself a spot on the short list of Best Metal Albums of 2012. The album debuted on the Billboard Top 40 for its initial release week. The record maintained the Top position on CMJ’s Hard Rock chart for three consecutive weeks. It was a resident of the Top 10 for eight weeks and ended 2012 on their Top Year chart at position seven.

The World Industrialist Tour will find FEAR FACTORY performing fan favorites plus select songs from The Industrialist and 2010’s Mechanize. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and all venue box offices. The video for “The Industrialist,” directed by James Zahn, as well as a special tour video by Dino Cazares can be viewed AT THIS LOCATION.

GWAR CONFIRMS DATE AND INITIAL BAND LINEUP

FOR 4th ANNUAL GWAR-B-Q

On Tour Now!

Antarctic rock-gods GWAR today released the first line-up for this year's GWAR-B-Q, located at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA. This year sees the event entering its fourth consecutive year while offering its most bone-crushing line-up yet, setting the stage for what will certainly be the most massive GWAR-B-Q in the history of the human or any other race!

The event is scheduled to take place Saturday August 17th, 2013 at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA, located at 7900 Osbourne Turnpike. Doors will open at 10:00 AM and the first band will hit the stage at 11:00 AM. For more information be sure to visit: http://gwarbq.com/. Ticket information will be announced shortly.

Local faves and international thrashers Municipal Waste will provide main support to the mighty GWAR, and in turn will be supported by a plethora of devastating acts like Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer, Cannabis Corpse, Loincloth, Kung-Fu Dykes and many more. Once again Hadad's will host not one but TWO stages which will be packed with bands all day...and finally there are rumors of a yet-to-be-announced act that will put this year's GWAR-B-Q 2013 completely over the top!

"Once again we blow the horn of war and set into motion the gears that grind us towards the greatest GWAR-B-Q yet," said unrepentantly horny front-thing Oderus Urungus, fresh off debuting GWAR's new "GWAR-B-Q" sauce at a strongly attended event at the world-famous Grinders in Kansas City (see more details HERE). "We will not only be rockin' like Dokken and slippin' the cock in, but we will shoving a wealth of GWAR products down your throat...not only our new GWAR-B-Q sauce, but our very own beer, Impaled Ale! Eat and drink yourself into a diabetic stupor, then puke it all up in the slam pit! It's gonna fucking rule!"

That's right, the 4th annual GWAR-B-Q is poised to make yet another stinky mess in the crotch of today's scene--BE THERE OR SUFFER THE SHAME OF BEING INCREDIBLY PATHETIC!

In other Slave Pit news GWAR is wrapping up a new album, their 13th, which is the band's first since the passing of longtime guitarist Cory Smoot in late 2011. Coming out later this year, the album features the debut of Pustulus Maximus, cousin of the mighty departed one, Flattus Maximus. The band kicks off their tour tonight in Tucson, AZ and will be on the road through April 25th in Jacksonville, FL. These dates will serve as the final leg of the "Fate or Chaos" tour, which chronicles GWAR's epic struggle with an angry God.

The GWAR show on April 17th in Denver (Englewood,CO) will be broadcast live on AXS TV. The broadcast will air at 12:00 AM EST/ 9:00 PM PST. AXS TV is available on: DIRECTV Channel 340, DISH Network Channel 362, AT&T U-Verse Channel 1106, and Verizon FiOS Channel 569. SODOM Premiere New Single on NPR!

SODOM are preparing for the release of their new album Epitome of Torture May 7th in North America. The new album will be available worldwide through SPV/Steamhammer in four different formats: as a limited-edition DigiPak including two bonus tracks and a poster, in a regular jewel case, as a double gatefold colored vinyl with three bonus tracks and for download. The cover artwork featuring Sodom's popular "Knarrenheinz" logo was developed by graphic designer Meran Karanitant, who has caused a stir with his work for Six Feet Under, Hatebreed and Dimmu Borgir, among others.

Today NPR is hosting an exclusive premiere of a new song from Epitome of Torture. Get a first listen to the song "Stigmatized" HERE.

Epitome of Torture can be pre-ordered on Amazon on CD and LP and as a digital download on iTunes.

Epitome Of Torture was produced by Waldemar Sorychta, whose expertise as a sound engineer and audio magician thoroughly benefitted Sodom's 2010 release In War And Pieces. Tom Angelripper: "Waldemar is an exceptional producer, who always succeeds in evening out an artist´s weak spot and promoting his strengths. He doesn't let you get away with anything, he knows all our weak spots. Which occasionally makes working at the studio a little demanding, but at the end of the day it's all worthwhile, as the result shows." The SODOM frontman describes the sound on Epitome Of Torture as "hard-as-nails and contemporary, without ignoring our tried-and-tested old-school attitude."

A trailer for Epitome of Torture can be viewed HERE.

A video clip for the new song "Stigmatized" in support of Epitome Of Torture together with director Ronald Matthes and the ROAX Team (Sodom: Lords of Depravity Vol 1+2, Volbeat, The BossHoss, W:O:A - to name but a few), was shot recently in Berlin. "SODOM haven't had an official video clip for some time, so it's about time we did one," Tom Angelripper confesses. "That's why the mini film will be uncompromising, a shocking clip which our fans can look forward to!"

VICIOUS RUMORS Electric Punishment - More Details Announced

Available May 7th on Steamhammer/SPV

When Vicious Rumors returned from a long, strenuous and immensely successful world tour in autumn 2011, the musicians - least of all band mastermind and main songwriter Geoff Thorpe - couldn't really see themselves mustering the energy to release a new studio album in the foreseeable future. "2011 was a monster year for Vicious Rumors in the most positive sense of the word," he says, looking back at that time with surprise and some satisfaction. "We were on the road non-stop for more or less eight months, played countless club shows and performed at some of the most important festivals worldwide. The last show of the tour took place as part of the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise - what a finale! Then everything was over very suddenly and we started to work on our new album without so much as a break. Perhaps you can imagine how difficult that was and how much concentration we needed to do that kind of work without any loss of friction." Now the doubtlessly successful result of that big challenge is scheduled for release: Vicious Rumors are set to unleash Electric Punishment sounding more multi-faceted and creative than they have done in a long time.

There definitely is no discernible loss of friction on Electric Punishment, which is again ruled by what Thorpe refers to as an "impressive double bass thunder, double guitar attacks and haunting vocals the way you only get them with this band". At the same time, the ten new songs are clearly more multi-layered and diverse than the material on its 2011 predecessor Razorback Killers. "While Razorback Killers was heavy all the way through from start to finish, the new material is more in the vein of Word Of Mouth," Thorpe explains. At the same time, the uncompromising toughness that their fans have come to expect of Vicious Rumors is present on Electric Punishment as well: the two openers 'I Am The Gun' and 'Black X List' are typical as can be of Vicious Rumors. Thorpe refers to those numbers as "classic power metal tracks which would have fitted on every one of our albums. But there's also an unusually atmospheric song called 'Eternally', an anthem to our audience entitled 'Together We Unite' and a deeply black ballad named 'Escape (From Hell)'. I'm sure that our fans will be just as surprised of the whole album as they will be of the final Kiss cover 'Strange Ways'."

Surprised and most likely thrilled, because once again the band has brought all its skills to bear and come up with a real highlight. Thorpe, vocalist Brian Allen, bassist Stephen Goodwin and drummer Larry Howe were supported by guitarist Thean Rasmussen, who returned to the Vicious Rumors fold after Razorback Killers. In addition, Thorpe & Co. invited a number of former allies to the studio as guest musicians: Brad Gillis features on 'D-Block', 'Together We Unite' and 'Eternally', Marc McGhee on 'Escape (From Hell)', and last but not least tour guitarist Bob Capka helped out at the studio with a number of rhythm guitars and a haunting solo on 'D-Block'. Thorpe: "I had a few problems with my fingers, that's why I was glad that Bob was there to help. Otherwise it probably wouldn't have been possible to stick to our tight production schedule."

So it's done: Electric Punishment is Vicious Rumors' eleventh studio album and proves just how much of a force to be reckoned with this band continues to be. "We have permanently grown, there have been no two identical albums in our career because each album has a new, fresh approach," comments Thorpe, not without pride. "Still we've never strayed from our course - perhaps precisely for this reason. We've remained faithful to our ideals and have always been honest with our fans. I think our loyal followers value that Vicious Rumors have never jumped on any kind of bandwagon. Everything we do comes from the heart, and Electric Punishment documents that no other band on this planet sounds like Vicious Rumors. To us, that's an incentive, a challenge and a quality feature all in one. And it's something our fans can rely on when we set off on our next monster tour in spring 2013." Vicious Rumors have been scheduled to headline countless clubs and play important festivals (the Headbangers Open Air in Germany and the Alcatraz festival in Belgium having been confirmed already) before going on to Japan and the USA. Thorpe: "We're facing big challenges again - but that sort of thing has always helped Vicious Rumors to grow!"
